A Month in the Making

Last Friday Baby #2 / Baby L / Ya-Ya
turned 1 month old!
She starting to gain quite a bit of weight, but I think most of it is in her cheeks.
Just to be fair, her little legs are starting to chunk up too.
She is starting to move out of her newborn clothes and into her 0-3 month-ers.
Her hair is kind of weird.
I don't know how to explain it other than 'wire-y'
But she is also starting to get a lot more curl.
I think it is going to be more like Sergio's
curls than mine.
It's going to be fun to see what it looks like
in a couple more months.
She has also learned a few new tricks
in the last 4 weeks.
This is my favorite one so far.
There is nothing quite like those first,
not gas,
She loves her daddy and her big sister.
He can always get her to smile and to calm down if she's got a bubble.
She is also getting pretty good at doing this:
She has been able to lift her head pretty well since she was first born...
She now lifts it on purpose and looks to see where noise is coming from.
It doesn't usually last very long before she gets pretty tired.
Then she just assumes the position.
She won't really take suckies (pacifiers) so she just chews on anything within cheek distance.
She loves to be on her tummy, and if I would let her,
she would sleep on her belly.

Ya-Ya has to be one of the most laid back babies
in the world.
She eats, sleeps and occasionally poops.
She loves to look around at the world
taking everything in.
She is really happy and very seldom cries.

It's amazing to me how much they can grow and learn in such a short amount of time.
They are so easy to love.
It's a constant eternal battle of wanting her to stay small forever,
and the excitement of seeing what she is going to be like when she gets a little bit bigger.
We keep just trying to enjoy every second.

A Pretty Fair Week 2013

We love fair week.
And this year has been no exception.

Mom had a ribbon cutting for a new fossil display at the museum.
It was fun listening to the prehistoric history of this area.
Afterwards we decided we needed some fair food.
We decided to support the Burley High School Band.
It was pretty yummy.
ZZ liked it too.
Parade Day!
ZZ's a pro at picking up the candy.
There was a perfect breeze so it didn't get ridiculously hot.
It was wonderful.
Baby L was there too, but somehow we didn't manage to get a picture of her.
Later than evening we quickly looked at all the fun animals.
ZZ even got to touch the cows.
We spent that evening walking the whole fair.
ZZ loved the bouncy toy, but I don't know if she loved the slide or not.
We spent some more time with the animals.
ZZ's favorite were the Turkeys.
They are less than my favorite.
Baby L had a blast hanging out too.
ZZ and Baby L loved snuggling when we got home.
For the first time in my life we went to the Carnival.
It was a blast.
There were a lot more rides for little people than I had imagined.
Giving high-fives with Grandpa.

The party got even more exciting when Miss C showed up.
She didn't want to miss out on the fun.
They were so cute together, as always.
Dad, ZZ and I rode on the ferris wheel,
Ali, Miss C, Sergio, and EV wanted nothing to do with the heights.
ZZ wasn't a fan at first and then she warmed right up to it.
Pretty soon it was time to head over to the Rodeo.
We grabbed some yummy food and headed over.
We had the whole famn damily...
with exception of Derek.
Poor kid doesn't know what he was missing out on.
The girls loved the cowgirl princesses.
Baby L was awesome at the rodeo.
She was awake the whole time and loved all of the action.
It was fun hanging out.
When the rodeo was done, ZZ still wasn't quite ready to go home.
She climbed right up the fence and was trying to get down to the horses.
We really need to take her riding one of these days.
Overall it has been a wonderful week.
I thought we are going to take it a little easier today but...
Sergio went and got us yummy maple bars
and took ZZ out to wash the dusty dirty car.
While Baby L got her 1st beautiful manicure.
Later in the evening Sergio insisted that we go to the rodeo...again.
It was a lot of fun.
I'm glad we got to go.
I can't believe how fast the week flew by.
We love this little community and the people that make wonderful things like this possible.
We are already looking forward to fair week next year.
