Look at Her Grow, 5 , 6, 7 Months

I have gotten really far behind in my blogging but I don't want to miss these fun little moments.

Ya-Ya started sitting up at 5 months.
She is still a calm and patient baby.
She was able to enjoy her very 1st Christmas.
ZZ showed her the ropes.
6 Months Old
She was just as happy as ever.
Month Six (January)
started off with a horrible flu, but was quickly followed by
her 1st tooth and her 1st hair cut.

Now at 7 months old she is learning all sorts of new tricks.
She is starting to eat a bunch...but only veggies.
She detests fruit.
She can lock her jaw in a way that I didn't even know was possible to make sure they don't find their way into her mouth.
She has started eating baby cereals and is a pro at switching things from one hand to the other.
She acts like she wants to crawl but would rather stand up holding on to our fingers.
She is teething again and wants to chew on anything that she can get into her mouth.
She knows her mommy and is already starting to have a little bit of mommy withdraws when I am not in the room.
I am glad to know she misses me.
I love this little girl.
Her and ZZ are best of friends.
Just like I want them to be.

ZZ's Rainbow Birthday! She's 3!!

I can't believe my little girl is already
3 Years Old!!!She really is a sweetheart and I love being her mommy.

We were visiting Arizona for her birthday for my cousins' mission homecoming.
We took advantage of having all the family together to have an extra party.
Sergio flew in the morning of her party.
She was so happy to see her Daddy after being away from him for the week.

ZZ really wanted a Dora Birthday party for her 3rd Birthday.
I'm not a huge fan of character parties so I tricked convinced her that a rainbow party would be fun and she could be Dora.  It worked and she was really excited.

Have you ever noticed that M&M's have a little 3 on them?
I hadn't either, but my awesome aunt did and it made perfect decorations for her rainbow cake.
We were in a hurry to get the cake figured out and done and I thought it turned out pretty cute.
We went over to my Uncle Ro's house.
He shared his heated pool with us.
My Tia Lene got this cute picture of her going down the slide.
ZZ had a blast and didn't want to get out of the water.
(I would put more pictures of us swimming, but swimming includes me in a swimming suit which is a little less flattering and I don't want to publicly put any of you through that...)
Like I said, she loved it.
Since I was the only adult willing to swim with the are some pictures of the rest of them doing what boring adults do...
This is my Grandpa Willie with the girlies after they got out of the water.

After we (we being me) were tired of swimming my Uncle Ro shared his mad cooking skills and grilled some of the best chicken I have ever eaten in my life.
We also had fruit kebabs since ZZ would choose fruit over pretty much anything 9 out of 10 times.

After dinner we ate cake.

I was pleasantly surprised how the cake turned out.
I just alternated layers of each color in a bunt pan.
It looked a lot more like a rainbow than I had imagined it would.
It was fun to hang out with everyone.
After cake,
ZZ got horribly spoiled.

My Uncle Morris and ZZ share the same birthday.
Morris shared his birthday with her,
so she thought it was only fitting if he would help her open her presents.

When she opened a bike helmet we asked her what she was going to do with
the helmet since she doesn't have a bike.
Right after that Sergio brought her bike in.
She was SOOO happy.

We went outside and rode bikes.

ZZ was positive that her birthday wouldn't be complete without a pinata.
She reminded me all week long...
So we had a pinata.

But he didn't last very long.

Although she missed her favorite friend, Miss C, I think it turned out to be a pretty fun birthday.
She is sure loved.

I'm so grateful to have her as my daughter.
She is a goofball and she says some of the funniest, sweetest things.
I have loved the last 3 year.
She is still my little baby in my mind.

A Lovely Little Imagination

Every couple of months ZZ hits a stage and I think,
"This is my new favorite stage."

Now she is entering one that is only comparable to
those first few smiles and laughs of a tiny baby.

ZZ is becoming a part of the wonderful land of make believe.
I LOVE it.
ZZ won this awesome Melissa and Doug doll house last year at A Child's World's birthday party that they have every year in February.  We have had it for a while and I was so worried about getting painted that I didn't put it together.
I eventually realized that I could possibly never get the whole thing painted.
She was so excited as we were putting it together I realized it didn't need paint at all.
Every morning she convinces me that we need to play with her "Dollies."
Sometimes we only play for a couple of minutes, sometimes we play all morning long in our jammies.
I'm glad they live in her room and not in mine...they kind of creep me out,
but to her, they are beautiful.

It is so fun to see how her imagination works and how she sees things.
Our first couple play dates consisted of Daddy going to work then coming home to give everyone kisses.
The next few times it was all about someone falling off the balcony and mommy giving them kisses.
The whole falling off the balcony part kind of freaked me out, but the mommy kisses made it all better.
Her dollies often eat popcorn at the table and
have a fascination with going to the bathroom and taking quick naps only to get up and eat more popcorn.
There is also this fun dress up toy.
She doesn't get to play with it very much.
It's sooo many little pieces,
but she does love it.

Today ZZ put her washcloth down on the shower floor and told me that she was having a picnic and couldn't get out of the shower.
I told her that we could play picnic together, if she would get out o the shower.
At first she invited me into the shower with her,
to which she got told, "no."
She's a pro bargainer and insisted that if she get out of the shower we also play with her "friends."
I thought that was a pretty fair trade and her "friends" were invited to our picnic.
While I made grilled cheese sandwiches she moved her "friends" to our picnic blanket.
Ya-ya was invited too.
I think she only ate a couple of slices of apple,
before her little people needed to eat too.
It looks like Thanksgiving came early at our house.

Her cute conversations are amazing and I really get a glimpse into the reality that she is living in.
I love that her friends say "sorry" and love each other.
She loves to sing along with her princesses and make her dollies dance.
It makes me notice the things that she really likes to do with me.
It's a magical little world that she is living in
and I am glad that I get to be apart of it.

Look at Her Grow: Rice Cereal

Our Little Ya-ya has doubled her weight!
She is now
15 lbs and 2 oz
and 25 1/4 inches long.
She stayed right on her 80% curb.

The Dr. said it was time to add some rice cereal to her diet.

She ate right up.

I'm pretty sure that I made a bigger mess than she did!

Even though I was very focused.
She is already getting to be such a big girl!
I'm loving having this little girl as part of our family.
I don't know what we would do with out her smiles.

Look at Her Grow: 4 Months

This little sweety turned 4 months old yesterday.
She is starting to show more and more of her personality.
A few of the things that she has learned this month are:
- How to grab things.
She loves her hangy-down toys and rattles.
My favorite part of this stage is I can put my hand out in front of her like I am reaching to her and she will grab a hold of my hand.
- How to call to mommy.
She has started babbling a lot more in this last month.  The first few times it was a, "Maaah,  MAaaah,"  It almost sounded like she was calling for me. Sometimes at night she will talk and talk and I will just listen to her from our room until she gets more upset.  I have a feeling she is going to be a talker.
-How to belly laugh.
This usually comes from tickling, which is only funny for about 2 tickles then she starts to get angry.
But the other day she was laughing every time I laughed.
I love laughing babies.  I'm convinced that it is be best sound in the world.
- How to roll over.
I have only actually seen her do it one time, but she has done it more than that.  I think it's a joke that she plays on me.  She rolls over just as I look away.
She loves to be (and sleep) on her side so once she gets to her side she doesn't really roll the rest of the way unless she is getting upset.
I am perfectly okay with her not wanting to roll very much.
Roll-y Babies = Messy diaper changes
- How to sit.
This little girl has amazing head control and sits pretty well for her age.
Obviously it's not perfect, but I can't believe how strong she is getting.
All she needs from me is to hold her legs down a little bit.
She loves to look around and observe everything that is going on.
-She likes pear juice.
Her little intestines were a little clogged up so she got to try pear juice for the 1st time.  She was a fan and it did the trick.
Tomorrow she has her Drs. appointment and I think they will give her the okay for rice cereal.

These are some of my favorite things about this little angel:
About 2 months after she was born she started to get this perfect heart shaped birthmark on her knee.
I love it.  It makes me smile.
Almost as much as I love the chunky legs she is getting.
This last month she also got another little angel kiss.
ZZ didn't have any birthmarks at all, so it was fun watching this one get darker and darker.

Ya-ya has the coolest tongue in the world.
If she had a chin she would be able to lick it.

All you have to do is touch the bottom of her lip and this is what happens.
Pretty amazing.
More than anything I love her sweet, calm personality.
She hardly ever gets frustrated with me.
She only cries if I take a really really long time to pay attention to her.
She is extremely patient, which I have needed lately
and she always seems happy to see me.
She watches ZZ's every move and loves when ZZ talks to her.
I have a feeling they are going to be really good friends.

She is a huge blessing and I love having her in our lives.
I'm so glad that I get to call her mine.
